Everyone is special and has a story. The lives of people I have met over the years, have touched me deeply. I stand here today looking back at my life as a stranger, unbelieving of how far I have come. I have watched people transform into loving beings of God and spirituality. I don't know when the final transformation in my life occurred, but I do know that everything happens for a reason. We each have a purpose on this Earth. We all have a story, and a past. The point is not to dwell on the past, but look toward the future and where we are all headed. When we finally make the connection and gain the courage, nothing is impossible. All we have to do is reach to the depth of our soul and discover our passion, our energy, and focus on the positives in life. Once we achieve this, we ourselves will become happy and thus be vibrating or feeling on the same level as God or the spirits. This vibration is discussed in Lynn Grabhorn's book, Excuse me, your life is waiting. This one simple but powerful book changed my life. When cleaning out my grandma's house, I found the book and it called to me. I sat reading the book and found myself unable to put it down. My emotions became a sponge, sucking the meaning and words. Then, I watched as my life transformed. My grandma taught me valuable lessons of truth and reality. I learned how to be giving, how to converse with people, and most of all to be strong and find the courage to stand proud and tall. It was her passing that gave me the strength through friends and life experience that brought around STITCH. Since this time, I receive emails on how STITCH has touched other people. We will always be a diversity group with a focus on the GLBT community. Each of us needs a place of comfort, a place to call home, and I am happy to provide this to any in need. As we help others, they help me as well. With every person we touch, I am healed, for the pain swiftly passes. I am no longer alone, but have a life filled with love, passion, and acceptance. For all of this, I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Douglas M. Harper
